from a journalist named Craig Leeson who
wanted to find blue whales that were elusive but he found not only blue
whales but plastic trash floating in the middle of the beautiful ocean that
should have been pristine. In the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Sri Lanka on
a beach that has been closed for 30 years, it should still be clean and
pristine, but in reality this ocean is filled with plastic waste and contains
oil. Plastic waste in the oceans comes from garbage that is dumped into
rivers and then flows into the sea ·
A Plastic Ocean is a documentary genre film
produced by Adam Leipzig and directed by Craig Leeson who is also a player in
the film. In this documentary film, Craig Leeson and freediver Tanya Streeter
collaborate with scientists and researchers to explore twenty locations over
a period of four years to uncover causes and consequences and provide
solutions to plastic waste. ·
On their way, Craig Leeson and Tanya Streeter
discovered various problems caused by plastic waste. Starting from whales
that died as a result of ingesting plastic with a width of 6 square meters so
that they could not eat and experienced malnutrition, seabirds which also
became victims of plastic waste floating in the ocean, and loggerhead turtles
that could not dive due to a large amount of plastic. in his stomach which
produces gas. |

PROBLEM |
problems of
sea waters are expected for the Management of plastic waste is needed to
maintain the balance of nature. Humans on earth should have an awareness of
the environment and manage it as best they can so that there is harmony in
nature between humans and components in the environment such as animals and
plants. In table 4.4 there is documentation in the form of pictures of
plastic waste management in various countries such as the Philippines,
Germany, England and Ireland. |

MY OPINION |
human
awareness must be truly aware that the impact of waste if it is thrown into
the sea will damage the marine ecosystem and also the home for creatures that
live in the sea, like the blue
whale is a rare animal that we really protect even in the world and not only
in Indonesia |
